The Par 3 Golf Course, Batting Cages, and Volleyball Courts are closed for the season.

James L. Wick, Jr. Recreation Area

Development of the area began in 1949, and it opened in 1956. A master plan for the Wick Recreation Area was developed in 2007. View the Wick Master Plan. Facilities in this 65-acre tract include:

  • Par 3 Golf Course
  • Tennis courts – 3 artificial grass, sand-filled surface courts; one court with backboard; lighted for night play
  • Batting cages – 4 hardball, slow to fast; 3 softball, fast and lob pitch
  • Volleyball courts – 3 sand courts; lighted for night play

The Par 3 golf course, tennis courts, volleyball courts and batting cages are lighted for night use until 11 pm from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.

  • Children’s Play Area – View Site Plan – Construction update 2015: The newly constructed Children’s Play Area includes Adventure, Sand, and Tot Playgrounds with equipment and features designed for interactive, physical, and social play. The Adventure Playground offers challenging play equipment for older aged children including a web climber and a large climbing rock. The Tot Playground offers nature-themed play opportunities for children aged 2-5 years old, including a tree house climber, musical instruments and a climbing rock. The Sand Playground includes fossils to be unearthed and a play rock with water. The Play Area is designed with family in mind as it offers designated areas with appropriately sized/designed play equipment for tots (ages 2-5) and older children (ages 5-12). Additional features planned for the Play Area in 2015 include design and construction of an interactive Wet Playground, and installation of picnic tables and new site features.

  • Thomas J. Bresko Pavilion is available for rental
