Family Outdoor Day

Celebrate Kids to Parks Day by enjoying the wide variety of family activities available at MCMP. Check out our website, or call WRA for full schedule and description.  Nominal fees may apply for some activities. 

 

PICKLEBALL    Volney Rogers Field No fee  10 am- Noon

Want a fun new challenge? USA Pickball Association Ambassador Wesley DePoy

will be on hand to share the basics of this active game. We provide equipment.

      

SCAVENGER HUNT    Mill Creek MetroParks Farm No fee 10 am-1 pm

On this nationally recognized day of getting kids outside to explore, enjoy

a scavenger hunt at the MetroParks Farm for a special prize.

 

PAR 3 – GOLF    Wick Recreation Area (Par3) 10 am-7 pm

Never found the right time to try out the short holes with the family? Make it today!

Enjoy a round at the Par 3 with your young ones. Family Fun Night Pricing will apply

from 3 pm to close. Regular Par3Rates apply at other times.

 

BATTING    Wick Recreation Area (Par3) 10 am-7:00 pm

Stop by and hit a few balls in our 4 hardball, slow to fast pitch cages.

Helmets/bats provided, regular rates apply. $1/1 token or $5/7tokens.

 

SOCCER    Bears Den Meadow/ Across from Bear’s Den Cabin No fee 10:30 am-12:30 pm

Bring your kiddos to the park and have them burn off some energy, while

Brandon Fotiuk teaches you the basics of soccer. Balls provided.

 

PEDAL BOATING    Lake Glacier Boathouse 11:30 am-6 pm

Work as a team to pedal and explore all the way around Lake Glacier. Adult

must rent boat and accompany younger riders. Regular Pedal Boat Rates apply.

 

VOLLEYBALL    Wick Recreation Area (Par3) No fee 10 am – 7 pm

One volleyball court will be reserved all day for Family Outdoor Day participants.

Just join in the game! Balls provided.

 

TENNIS    Wick Recreation Area (Par3) No fee 12 pm-2 pm

Tennis courts will be reserved for Family Outdoor Day participants from

noon until 2pm for you and your family to enjoy! Tennis rackets and balls will be provided.

 

NATURALIST HIKE    Ford Nature Center No fee 1 pm-2:30 pm

Enjoy this afternoon hike to the Lily Pond with Volunteer Naturalist

Jim Thornton. It will be a moderate 2 mile hike.

 

YOGA    Judge Morley Pavilion Lawn – Wick Recreation Area No fee 4 pm-5 pm

The whole family can enjoy a beginners yoga session instructed by

Shannon Shugart and Ali Nannicola from PūrYoga.  Limited number of yoga

mats available for loan. Feel free to bring your own mat or towel.

 

DEK HOCKEY    Wick Recreation Area (Par3) No fee 5 pm-7 pm

Try out the NEW Dek Hockey Rink! This fun variation of ice hockey is played using

a ball, either on foot or with inline skates. Rink will be reserved for Family Outdoor Day

participants from 5 to 7pm. Hockey sticks and pucks provided.

 

** Pick up a Family Outdoor Day punch card at any location and time listed above. Have staff or volunteer mark your card at each activity you participate in! Complete 4 of the activities, return the card to the Par 3 building at the Wick Recreation Area, and you will receive a coupon for a free

Lake Glacier Passenger Boat ride (good weekends only from Memorial Day to Labor Day). **

Program Registration Policy
Registrations for programs are processed on a first come/first serve basis in the order that payment is received. Payment is due upon registration. Registration is required 48 hours in advance for all programs (except when noted). Some programs will accept registration after the 48 hour deadline with an additional fee. Visa, Mastercard, Discover, cash, and checks are accepted. Programs are held rain, snow, or shine. Please be advised that if you elect to come to a program, that is not advertised as drop-in, without pre-registering and paying, you may be turned away if the instructor cannot accommodate you. If you do attend a program as a drop-in, you must pay with exact cash or a check made out to Mill Creek MetroParks.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations less than 48 hours are non-refundable. Cancellations less than one week, but before 48 hour deadline will have a 10% cancellation fee. Cancellations made one week prior will receive a full refund. No program credits or transfers will be given. Many programs will allow you to send an alternate participant if you are unable to attend. Please contact the facility prior to the program, otherwise the alternate will not be accepted. A full refund will be issued if the program is cancelled by Mill Creek MetroParks.
