Unity Through Nature

February 7 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until February 9, 2020

The Visual and Performing Arts Unity Project is an art exhibit featuring the collaborative efforts of VPA visual art students in grades K-12 throughout the Youngstown City School District. Joining the 2019-2020 VPA Unity Project, in a very special collective community effort, are 10 surrounding school Districts throughout the Tri-County area as well as our area universities of YSU and KSU. The project symbolizes ‘unity’ through the collaborative painting process. Each VPA painting features a collective unified vision or message by the students and features the work of each and every visual art student in the building. The paintings are accompanied by poignant quotes regarding unity provided by the students which were collected during the creative process. This year’s overarching theme is “Unity Through Nature” as a tribute to our beautiful Mill Creek MetroParks. For further information regarding the VPA Unity Project or YCSD VPA contact Tracy Schuler Vivo, Director of Visual and Performing Arts/ VPA Coordinator at 330.744.8830 or  Tracy.Schuler-Vivo@youngstown.k12.oh.us
