BOULDERING AT MILL CREEK METROPARKS
Mill Creek MetroParks offers a unique and scenic setting for outdoor bouldering right in the heart of the Mahoning Valley. Nestled among sandstone cliffs, wooded trails, and natural rock formations, the park’s bouldering areas provide climbers of all levels with a chance to test their skills in a beautiful, natural environment. Whether you’re a seasoned climber or just starting out, the park’s terrain offers a mix of technical and approachable challenges surrounded by the peaceful backdrop of Mill Creek’s historic landscape.
Bouldering (low climbing without ropes) is allowed only in designated areas of the park. This includes the area encompassed by Bears Den Drive, Cross Drive and New Cross Drive. Bouldering safety equipment, i.e. helmets and portable bouldering pads, are recommended but not required.
BOULDERING AREA EXPANSION
The bouldering area has been expanded to include a rock section on the northern side of Bears Den Drive, between New Cross Drive and Cross Drive. Signage is in place to designate the new area, which features a 40-foot section of quality sandstone with ample holds.
PARK RULES & REGULATIONS
Bouldering is permitted in designated areas only. Climbers are encouraged to use proper safety gear, practice “Leave No Trace” principles, and respect all park rules and signage to help preserve the natural environment.
PARK RULES & REGULATIONS: 20.6 RAPPELLING, CLIMBING, BOULDERING

All roped climbing, rappelling, and the placement or use of fixed or removable bolts, anchors, or hardware is strictly prohibited.
