Mill Creek MetroParks added pickleball courts to the existing tennis courts at Yellow Creek Park and Volney Rogers Field as part of a resurfacing project for both tennis and basketball courts. The new pickleball courts are open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis, available year-round from dawn to dusk.

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, played with a paddle and plastic ball. Its simple rules make it easy for beginners to pick up, but it can quickly turn into a fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. With over 2 million players, according to the USA Pickleball Association, pickleball is popular among middle and high school students in physical education classes and is enjoyed by seniors for its social aspects and fitness benefits. For more information, visit the USA Pickleball Association’s website at usapa.org.

Important Notice: Tennis courts need to be converted for pickleball. To reserve a tennis court for pickleball, please call Wick Recreation Center at 330.740.7114 at least 48 hours in advance. Pickleball reservations include net setup.
