Mill Creek MetroParks is the perfect place to gather, play, and enjoy the outdoors with friends and family. With numerous picnic areas and playgrounds located throughout the park, there’s something for everyone—from peaceful picnic spots surrounded by nature to vibrant play areas filled with fun for kids of all ages.

Several picnic shelters are available for use, many of which can be reserved for special occasions like birthday parties, reunions, or group outings. Popular reservable shelters include the Bresko Pavilion, Stitt Pavilion, Slippery Rock Pavilion, Chestnut Hill, and more, each offering unique surroundings and convenient access to trails and parking. Most shelters include picnic tables, grills, restrooms, and nearby open space for games or relaxing.

Whether you’re planning a full day outdoors or just stopping by for some quick fun, Mill Creek MetroParks’ picnic areas and playgrounds make it easy to connect with nature and each other in a beautiful, family-friendly setting.

PICNIC REGULATIONS & CONSIDERATIONS:

To help keep our facilities clean, safe, and enjoyable for all, we kindly ask that visitors observe the following guidelines when using picnic areas:

  • PETS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN DESIGNATED PICNIC AREAS
  • PORTABLE GRILLS SHOULD NOT BE USED ON PICNIC TABLES
  • FIRES ARE ONLY ALLOWED IN THE FIREPLACES PROVIDED
  • ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED IN ALL AREAS OF THE PARK
  • PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR VISIT—TABLES AND BENCHES SHOULD BE WIPED DOWN, AND ALL TRASH OR RECYCLABLES SHOULD BE PLACED IN THE APPROPRIATE RECEPTACLES
