The AJGA Tournament at Mill Creek Golf Course Continues to Flourish Financial Success for Mahoning Valley
The Mercy Health Foundation’s American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Mahoning Valley Junior All-Star Event and AJGA Mahoning Valley Preview Events took place the week of June 23, 2025, at Mill Creek Golf Course. The tournaments hosted 300 junior competitors, including six junior players who earned their spot in a Sunday regional qualifier event for the Junior All Star with a field of 124 players. Over 100+ volunteers, 40+ college coaches from all over the United States, along with two dozen tournament staff and interns from the AJGA were also in attendance at the 2025 tournament.
The 2025 AJGA tournament set a new financial record of $462,174.00 thousand in economic impact for the Mahoning Valley and a total of $3,586,332.00 million in economic windfall since its inception in 2016. This impact includes lodging for families and AJGA representatives, rental cars, dining, and entertainment spending. To date, the AJGA event has raised over $74,350.00 for local charities and has represented players from all 50 states as well as 39 different countries over the years. Grace Carter, of Jupiter, Florida was the female champion coming in at nine under par (201), who in addition broke the female course record at Mill Creek with a 63 on the South Course in Round two. Trent Reidel from Medina, Ohio was the male champion with a score of two under par (208) for the week for the Mercy Health Foundation’s Mahoning Valley AJGA Junior All Star Tournament.
Willa Borough from Lexington, Kentucky was the female champion coming in at two over par (142) and Alex Renda of Rancho Santa Fe, California was the male champion with a score of one over par (141) for the week for the Mercy Health Foundation’s Mahoning Valley AJGA Junior Preview Tournament.
