Step-On Tours
Enjoy a highlight tour of iconic Mill Creek Park from the comfort of your own facility’s vehicle. A Park Educator or trained docent will ‘step on’ your bus or van for a 1 hour narrated tour of the Park. Docents will share the history and stories of the Park as your residents enjoy scenic vistas.
*Ideal for nursing homes and schools!

Tractor & Wagon Tours of the MetroParks Farm
Come and see what’s happening on our 402-acre working Park Farm with a tractor and wagon tour led by an educator or trained docent. This 45-minute tour includes a stop at our century barn and poultry barn to visit the animals and birds. Visitors welcome to visit animals in Barn 2 and Barn 5 on their own.

Cohasset Express Trolley Tours
All aboard the Cohasset Express! Mill Creek MetroParks’ open-air trolley provides a unique and different transportation option when exploring the Park. An educator or a trained docent will share the history and stories of Mill Creek Park on this 1-hour highlight tour. Seasonal tours run May through October. Registration required. Dress for the weather as the trolley does not have heat.

Cohasset Express Trolley Rentals for Special Occasions
The Mill Creek MetroParks’ Cohasset Trolley is available to rent by the general public for special occasions. Perfect for getting around the MetroParks, the rental fee for the trolley is $350 for the first two (2) hours and $150 for each additional hour. The trolley must be rented for a minimum of two (2) hours. A guide is available for an additional fee of $25.00 per hour (guide must be reserved for entire rental time). A discount is available for 501c3 organizations. The trolley is available for rentals seasonally from April through October. If the weather permits, at the discretion of the MetroParks, it may be used prior to or after the seasonal dates.
Maximum seating is 12 people.
Lanterman’s Mill
Group Tours
Visit Lanterman’s Mill, one of Mahoning County’s most historic landmarks and step into the past. This working gristmill operates today as it did in the 1800’s, grinding grains. During this 45-minute tour, staff will share the history and stories of the Mill as well as demonstrate the pioneer ingenuity involved in the early production of meal and flour. Be sure and visit the gift shop to purchase some stone-ground cornmeal, buckwheat and whole wheat flour. Registration required. Dress for the weather as the mill does not have heat.

Guided Tours
Come take a walk through the through the gem of Youngstown – the Botanical Gardens of Mill Creek Park. The Gardens offers tours with a trained garden guide or provides materials for a self-guided adventure. In a guided tour guests will learn about the history, the plant collections, and annual display plantings. During your trip to the gardens, enjoy a lunch reservation in our glass wall Garden Café overlooking Lake Glacier and be sure to stop in to see the “Shop in the Garden”, a spectacular boutique with a unique selection of seasonal offerings.
