Forestry Work to be Performed on MetroParks Property

Asplundh Tree Expert Company will be performing forestry work in the upcoming months on several of First Energy’s existing electrical power line easements which run across MetroParks property, at the following specific locations:

  • Mill Creek Park, along US 224
  • Mill Creek Park, north of Shields Road (between East and West Newport Drives)
  • MetroParks Bikeway, north of SR 446
  • MetroParks Farm, frontage along SR 62

Professional vegetation management crews from Asplundh Tree Expert Company asses each situation to determine the best approach. The forestry work may include cutting trees and brush, pruning trees, herbicide treatment of stumps and spot application of herbicide to specific vegetative species. This is an ongoing approach by First Energy to maintain proper clearances around their utility easements.
