Closure of Comfort Stations at East Golf Hike & Bike Trail

Two (2) existing comfort stations located at the East Golf Hike & Bike Trail (near Shields Road) in Mill Creek Park will be closed starting the week of March 11, 2024. The comfort stations are scheduled to be demolished and replaced with a new, prefabricated concrete restroom. The anticipated project duration, including all excavation, installation, and construction activities, is approximately three (3) weeks.

The East Golf Hike & Bike Trail will remain open throughout the project. Access to the adjacent parking lot (Shields Road) will be maintained throughout the project, however, intermittent closures for demolition/construction activities are to be expected. In the event of closures, trail users are encouraged to utilize the parking lots near Boardman-Canfield Road and West Golf Drive.

Notice of March Board Meeting

The next Regular Meeting of the Board of Park Commissioners, of Mill Creek MetroParks is scheduled for Monday, March 11, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., in the Education Building – McMahon Hall, at the MetroParks Farm, on Rt. 46, in Canfield. The agenda will be available on the website after 2:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting.

Mill Creek MetroParks Road Closures

The following roads in Mill Creek Park will be closed to vehicular traffic as well as cyclists and pedestrians from approximately 6:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2024, for the Youngstown Road Runners Club Mill Creek Distance Classic Half Marathon and 5 Mile Run:

  • W West Drive
  • West Drive
  • West Cohasset Drive
  • Cascade Road
  • West Valley Drive
  • High Drive
  • Chestnut Hill Drive
  • East Park Drive
  • Valley Drive
  • West Valley Drive
  • East Cohasset Drive
  • Robinson Hill Drive
  • Memorial Hill Drive
  • Slippery Rock Bridge

Always use caution when driving on MetroParks roads as many of these roads are also used by pedestrians and bicyclists. Pedestrians and bicyclists should be reminded to also use caution and be aware of vehicular traffic when on these roads.
