Mill Creek MetroParks Parking Lot Closures

Multiple parking lots and asphalt surfaces throughout Mill Creek Park will be temporarily closed for the MetroParks annual asphalt sealing and preventive maintenance project. The work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, and will continue for several days. Lots will be closed for several days and will reopen once vehicular traffic is permitted. In the event of inclement weather, the work schedule will be delayed and adjusted accordingly. Parking lots and surfaces scheduled for work include the following:

– Wick Recreation Area

– Kirk Road Trailhead

– MetroParks Farm

Access to all Mill Creek MetroParks facilities (including the Par 3 Golf Course, Kurinka Play Area, MetroParks Bikeway and Recycling Center) served by these parking lots will remain open and accessible.

Portion of Youngstown Clothing Company shirt sales will go back to Mill Creek Park

On Monday, park commissioners announced a deal between Mill Creek MetroParks and Youngstown Clothing Company.

Youngstown Clothing Company has several shirt designs highlighting some of Mill Creek’s more popular areas, including Bear’s Den, the Lily Pond and Lanterman’s Mill.

Ten percent from all sales of those shirts will go to the Mill Creek MetroParks Foundation to keep the park beautiful.

You can buy the shirts online or at Youngstown Clothing Company in the Southern Park Mall. T-shirts are $26 each and sweatshirts are around $50.

Notice of July Board Meeting

The next Regular Meeting of the Board of Park Commissioners, of Mill Creek MetroParks is scheduled for Monday, July 13, 2020, at 6 p.m. While in-person attendance is not permitted due to COVID-19, the meeting can be viewed via Facebook Live on the Mill Creek MetroParks Facebook page. The agenda will be available on the website after 2 p.m. on the day of the meeting. A meeting of the Public Records Commission will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the same location and will be following the same protocol as the Regular Board Meeting.
